About Steve

Steve Baskis is an Army veteran, adventurer, speaker, and advocate for the blind and visually impaired. He served as an infantryman during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where in May 2008 he sustained life-threatening injuries that permanently changed his life. Since then, Steve has pursued his goals with unwavering determination, proving that resilience and courage can forge a new path forward.

Follow the inspiring stories of blinded veterans as they take on the challenge of kayaking the Yellowstone River. Team River Runner hosts the annual “Outtasight” Clinic in Montana, where their mission is to put “Butts in Boats.”
Veterans from across the nation unite to learn the fundamentals of kayaking, including rolling and navigating rapids without sight. Supported by ROl Films and Trusun Media, this documentary educates and inspires, showcasing what is possible.

Courage in America: Warriors With Character
